Billy Miller column

Just read an interesting column for auctions such as 1M-1N, 2m, 2N-? continuations

rebid of the other major showed a strong 5/5

rebid of the minor showed a weak 5/5

rebid of othe original major showed a strong 6/4

rebid of the other minor showed unspecified shortness (to be relayed)and a good hand.

He also wrote about 1S-1N, 2H-2N continuations. Something like...

2C-asked 2D to show various things. Probably the good 5413, the good 5/5 and the good 6/4

2D-showed a good 5431 specific

2H-showed a weak 5/5

2S-showed a weak 6/4

Left the Bulletin at home. Maybe someone else has the continuatons.

Anyway, I thought this would come up a lot and was pretty good. Anyone have something they play along these lines?

Standard to have a way to show weak 6-4/5-5 and strong 6-4/5-5.

Personally I use:

1M-1N

2red-2N

3C=weak relay or pattern bid. Responder bids 3D unless our suit was diamonds and they would have converted a weak 3D bid to 3 of our major. If opener bids 3N next he has short in the other major.

That leaves everything else as natural and forcing.

Obviously does not work over clubs in which case I use something similar to what Billy described.
