lipi Posted September 2, 2004 Report Share Posted September 2, 2004 I think it would be a nice idea that you could get a warning whenever someone creates a new tourney or maybe when a tourney is about to start, so that when you are just hanging around in hope of a fresh tournament you don't have to watch the new tourney box all the time. And should be announced only non-paid tourneys, because the players who play paid tourneys know their shedule and register there promptly. Directors who are currently directing should be not alerted. This is especially desirable for the acbl tourney alerts that we receive frequently - I believe they are issued manually so far. There is no problem with such an automatical alert for payed tourneys, too. However, it should supressed for users with an empty bbo$ account. And also restricted tourneys should be only alerted to players who pass the restrictions. Additional suggestion: in the list of scheduled tourneys, those the user cannot play due to the restrictions should be displayed in a different color. IF Lobby Chat is turned off (as I do when directing and often when playing) the ACBL alerts should not be shown to me. Currently most TD's anouncements do not make it thru, but ACBL does and that is distracting at the least. 3) a TD can allready anounce only to his club members (On Line Only I think). Inshort this is a good idea to automatically alert touneys (some times I get there to find $ needed and I never have any! (I rarely have my Rent anyway!)) so to cut off anoiuncements for PAID TOURNEYS to people with out money in account is an EXCELLENT IDEA. But the added changes would not be worth it.
