Unfortunately this is all the Meckwell CC seems to say about it:-

Note 14: 1♣ comp: Over X, 1♦=6-7, XX=FG no good bid. In comp all new

suits are FG 5+ 8+ HCP, with jumps=NF NAT. Cue=8+ FG no good bid.

Pass=0-5 or trap. At 3-level, X=GF no good bid. Pass/X inversion applies

1♣-4♥+, or other high level F situation after 1♣ opening. If Responder

could be weak, most X’s T/O.

...and the more detailed notes that used to be available online have disappeared.

Thx guys, not much to work with, but something is something.

After the 5-7 bids, completing the transfer (if avaible) is probably weak, but other than that, what is forcing and what is not?. There are often no cuebids avaible, and even if they are, it is not enterilly clear you don't wanna play in that suit anyway.

If you're referring to our structure, if opener completes the transfer it is weak. We would complete the transfer after say 1C (1D) 1N showing hearts even with a doubleton unless we had a suit we wanted to show. It's always possible that partner has 6 hearts and a 5-2 fit will likely play as well as 1N from the weak side. Other auctions are pretty natural. A cue bid starts a GF. If opener cue bids a second time, he's showing the overcaller's suit. Something like 1C (1D) 2C P 3S would be invitational since responder is known to have spade tolerance. We've had a couple of good boards after 1C (1D) dbl P P or 1C (1S) dbl (3S) dbl. It's just very handy to know responder's attitude toward overcaller's suit.
