rcbought
Would it be possible to include hands played in the total points club into the my hands folder or somehow keep the boards played in the movie. As a TD it is nearly impossible to make a decision because after the board has been played it is gone. and makes it really difficult to figure out what happened because it is usually he said she said. Also a chat to club shortcut would be nice (like ctrl-k for kibs). or maybe there is one that i haven't found yet.. Thanks
uday
For now you can have the players send the TD the movie (invoke the movie), send a chat to td, "attach bridge movie" I'll discuss the saving w/FG when he returns. I am not wild about saving hands that are played once in myhands, though. Not sure why. Chat defaults to club when you are in the table list of the club. I dont think we have a chat->club shortcut from inside a table. Control T, which works in tourneys, doesnt seem to work in clubs.
inquiry
The main feature of myhands is to see what OTHERS did on the hands you played (at least for me). I assume (and I maybe wrong), that you can log the total point hands by turning hand logging on (Is this right?), so you can always open the hands on your computer if you want to relook at them. If total point hands are not logged like others (if you turn this feature on), then simply include logging for them as a feature. uday
Some events ( the TotalPoint tourneys , in particular) run organized tourneys daily where each table uses totalpoint scoring and the winner advances to the next round (a weird format but can be addictive - http://www.bbofriends.com/totalpoints/ ) TP TDs might very well want to see the hand record of a earlier board; the private logfile will help but only in the sense that a player can use it to msg the TD . Rain
I think rcbought was referring to the total points tournaments held in the TP clubs. These are not held in the tourney area, and the hands are not identical--you can't compare results to other players, you can only pray and rub whatever rabbit feet you have. I remember TP club holding a few TP tourneys in the tourney area to test it out, but it never caught on(?) I think tourney deals should be included in myhands. I also think a seperate section in myhands could be done, with MP boards, IMP boards, rubber boards, TP boards....neater... etherwiz
one person's neat is another person's trash .................. I know I would perfer the recording any hands played - because a lot times the hands I want to go over with my partner are simply not there. Bidding is bidding and play is play no matter where it is done. So there for any boards we play are possible to want (need) afterwards. Even the unpreduictable TP stuff. The reason TP never caught on with the Tourney Feature here is that the TP rounds are eliminate-ing. The Tourney features combine all rounds point for a winner. This defeats the stratagy preacticed in TD. to win each round by POINTS ONLY, only considering your table and your opps each round! _*_Dave
Rebound
I agree that it would be nice, not a big deal, but nice, if the folder containing hand records was sub-divided by type.
rcbought
Thanks uday for your reply. I thought it was better to ask then for me to sit here and wonder if it could be done. I understand why you wouldn't want to put them into the database. Well yes we do run a few tables in the BBO tourney room... Speedball, Big singles, and the staff tourney. They have been very popular. I just have some questions though. Just what exactly is A- for a total points tourney? Also when we started the tourney there were 150 pairs. We had removed offline people 2 minutes before. However when the tourney started we only had 72 tables what happened to the other 6 pairs? Are some size limits better than others so people don't get dropped from the tourney?
