han
Suppose the auction starts 1D - 1M3D 1M - 2D (GF)2M - 3D or 1M - 3D (invitational) Play: 3H = either a stopper or extra length in the major.3S = the other stopper. We bid the stoppers naturally. For example, if M = hearts then 3H shows either a club stopper or heart length and 3S shows a spade stopper. After 3H, partner can ask with 3S, after which we bid 3NT with the stopper and at the 4-level with extra length. Thoughts?

Free
Apart from possible wrongsiding issues I don't see any problems. What does 3NT mean over 3♥?
han
It means you want to play 3NT regardless.
