I think 4N should be natural, and 5♣ natural as well, so I have a lot of sympathy for 5♦... South has a very difficult call, I doubt I'd find a 6♦ bid at the table, but perhaps it could work it out on paper. I'd be in 5♦, this is a huge weakness for a strong club system though. In standard, after 1♣ there would be a lot less trouble finding the slam since South can envision a double fit with partner having a huge minor suit hand. dake50 Posted February 5, 2011 Report Share Posted February 5, 2011 With a strong club, p p 1C <X> 2C(->D) <4H> 5D p 6D(w 2xA). Only 5D limits 1C, so 2xA no grand.
