At what point are you mentioning your Spade suit? Now? At the 3 level? Maybe never? Spoiler question:If you say Double or 2S right now, LHO will bid 3H passed back to you. What are your thoughts now? paulg
I'd double again, a little nervously with the void but any suit that partner bids is very acceptable. If partner bids a minor then I'll mention my spades before supporting.
blackshoe
Not good enough for double then cue bid?
karlson
I would bid 2♠ now, I don't think this is enough to double and then bid 3♠ over 3m. If 3♥ comes back, I would double.
MrAce
Not good enough for double then cue bid? To me it is. I bid 3♥
Phil
Double and then 3♠ I think. I might hit a yarb across but I have support for everything!
Fluffy
I'd double 3 times, but I have had problems with this approach, if the majority thinks 3♠ is best then they are probably right
the hog
Agree with Phil. I would certainly double again.

It might be possible that Partner has a penalty pass over 2♥. It depends if you have an agreement with partner for this situation. It could be the case if you play Responsive doubles. But it is unlikely that he has AND ♥ AND enough values to pass your double (you simply have too much). So 2♠, which perfectly describes the hand: 17+HP, and very good 5 card. With some ♠ support, parner might decide to give you furher support: 3 spades and ♣J might be enough for game !

tolvyrj
Tricky, on one hand i would like to dbl again, but prd might leave it in and then do i have enough defence and prd good enough trumps. On second hand 2♠ now do describes the hand, im bidding all by my self so i cant be very weak.My vote will be 2♠, ♥lead attacks directly to long trumps and i must also develop ticks from my long side suits B) and if im lacking entries to dummy that may be difficult. If and when they bid 3♥i dbl again hoping that my prd would then understand the nature of my hand. Fat chance. :D
whereagles
Keep doubling baby. All I need across is xx xxx xxxx Jxxx to have a shot at game.
JLOGIC
I would just bid 2S. If partner has a five card minor I will regret this as I have almost game in hand opposite that, but it seems unlikely given that the opps have only bid 2H. If partner does not have a 5 card minor my chances for game or even partscore become much diminished and I'd like to play in the safety of spades (and at the 2 level). Also, if partner has 4 trumps and anything he will probably raise so I don't expect to miss spade games this way (but if I double and parner bids 2S it will often be a 3 card suit and bidding 3S may get us too high). Keep doubling baby. All I need across is xx xxx xxxx Jxxx to have a shot at game. Posts like this show how overrated a hand like this is if you do not catch a 9 card fit. Any game opposite that hand is close to 0 %.
gordontd
I'd have started with a 1♠ overcall, and would double now (and possibly once more). I'm surprised I seem to be all alone in that.

wank
my plan too, not sure how good/bad it is though. i think it's a fine plan. you have too good a hand to bid 1 spade normally, but you have so few hearts the prospect of it going all pass is around
