I think it would be extremely rare for you to hold a hand where you might want to play in a suit other than ♠ (while not being able to just bid it!) or in 4NT. the_dude Posted January 26, 2011 Report Share Posted January 26, 2011 I like the simple 4NT rule over 4 level bids .. over a minor then 4NT is blackwood and if a major then 2 places to play. In this case the 2 places can only be the minors. If you wanted to make an exception for this situation .. I guess you could as showing 2 suits after partner has shown 7 cards is weird. But i dunno .. partner with a good 6/5 or 6/6 might still want to know. You still have a slam try available for spades .. 5H .. not perfect but over preempts you can't have everything.
