mgoetze
Matchpoints, none vulnerable. You deal yourself ♠T9xx ♥xxx ♦AK9x ♣Kx and pass. Pass, partner opens 1♦, RHO overcalls 2♣. Now what?
Phil
Double. One major and diamond support is enough.
cherdano
Double of course. When does this hand get interesting?
mtvesuvius
Clear double, I'm not upset if partner bids 4♥, in fact I may pass that depending on my mood :)
inquiry
If i was moving threads out of interesting forum, I am pretty sure I would move this one. I can only assume the double worked out badly when this hand occurred and bidding 2♦ would have worked out better, but that doesn't change the "correctness" of the double. Cyberyeti
2♦, but for me this is still inverted, 4+♦, 10+ points not denying a 4 card major.
mtvesuvius
2♦, but for me this is still inverted, 4+♦, 10+ points not denying a 4 card major.:o Sounds pretty unplayable... How on earth do you discover major suit fits without getting too high?

mgoetze
Actually my partner had the given hand, and I responded 2♥ on ♠Kxx ♥AKx ♦Txxx ♣Axx. 2♥-3 was a near-bottom result. I actually agreed with double but thought it was much closer... sorry for being so boring.
karlson
Your partner might have come up with 3♦ over 2♥.
the_dude
Your partner might have come up with 3♦ over 2♥. Yeah .. double doesn't mean you have to pass partner's response. When he bids 2♥ you bid 3♦ and it shows this hand.
