manudude03
[hv=pc=n&s=sa7ht9djt7cakj986&w=sqt632hjd64cq7543&n=sk54h75432dak83c2&e=sj98hakq86dq952ct&d=w&v=0&b=8&a=pp1h2cp2dp2hp2sp3dppp]399|300[/hv] 3D went -1. At the other table, North passed throughout and 2S made so I gained 2 imps. Not very exciting really :).
whereagles
all hail the passers. they got this one right :) actually.. wait. I think 2NT makes as well LOL
Phil
Awesome. Respond in a four card suit, and follow it up with a 3 card suit... I'd have to say that if I did bid 2♦, I would at least retreat to 3♣.
cherdano
I also don't get 2♥. What's wrong with 3♦?
JLOGIC
Heart 7 was a stopper, if only partner also had 7 tricks whereagles would be a genius!
whereagles
Well, he has 6 and will pass 2NT since he has min. I make that for +120. Howzdat for a genius?
gwnn
whereagles not long ago you overcalled with 6 points, so is AKJ98x and 13 points really a minimum for you?
whereagles
huh..? Are you talking about hcp(west)>6 in the other thread?
gwnn
Yes, obviously different circumstances, but this definitely looks like an accept to me.
whereagles
Well, circumstances make quite a difference. In the other thread I put overcaller with as little as 7 hcp because some people bid on lousy hands. In my book overcalls normally range from 8 to 17, so this ranks as a "good min". Not sure I'd accept and bid 3NT. Especially since responder steered away from clubs and my suit isn't that hot without some fillers. But yeah, bidding 3NT certainly wouldn't be too far-fetched. CSGibson
....my suit isn't that hot without some fillers. AKJ986 is now a "not hot suit that needs fillers"? I guess you and I have very different definitions of that, I would expect to bring this home for 1 loser opposite a singleton the majority of the time. the hog
Pass both times. Not that hard.
