Why does GIB ruff the K on Trick 9 instead of pitching a ? Is it not possible that my Q will fall under the K, setting up the J for another pitch?

I'm more disturbed by the way it didn't try to drop the king of clubs and didn't try to finesse against the king of clubs. It strikes me that there is no simulation where the line it took could have been better.

Playing Q looks like it's trying to create a board entry. But then why did it play dummy's J under it?

Yeah, and it's not as if there isn't a board entry in diamonds (and diamond ruffs). I have not been able to construct a double dummy situation where this club play is the single best line.

I think GIB was playing on novice settings! The bidding is horrible. Is there any explanation for that 4hearts bid? Also what is 5spades????? Both are gambling bids.

To answer your question ..yes at trick 9 it should discard diamond on spade king.

ALso corrrect line is to win opening lead in heart. cash 2 diamonds. ruff 3rd diamond.ruff heart. ruff diamond . etc and go 2 down :)

Now that the auction's been questioned... the explanation of the 6 bid is "strong rebiddable clubs; 33+ total points". C'mon: 33+? Apparently, 33+ is because that's what's needed for slam and the 5 bid didn't promise any points. Then, West figures that he's got enough for 7 opposite 33+.
