It seems like the approach is as follows.

 

Directly over a 1NT opening:

--> To sign off below game bid 2; partner bids 2 and then you can sign off in any suit (with a few higher bids available for certain types of GF hands)

--> If you are weak with both majors, or have an invitational hand without a 5-card major, or want to force game but can't set the suit right off, then bid 2

--> Most other responses below 3NT show game invitational hands (2M natural 5+ invite, 3-level mostly 5/5 invites of some type)

--> 4M is to play and 4m is south african transfer

 

The main discussion of follow-up bidding is after 2 where:

--> Minimum opener normally bids 2, which presumably declines any invite

........... this can be passed with an invitational hand including diamond length

........... 2 rebid is not forcing; with less than 3 opener bids 2 which can be passed (both majors weak or inv) or corrected to 2NT (invite hearts only)

........... 2NT is to play, denying 5 or a 4M

........... 2 is a four-card suit and forcing one round (could be invite, could be GF)

........... others generally game-going hands

--> Maximum opener normally bids longer major, shows 3+ in major bid

........... this can be passed with a weak hand including both majors

........... other continuations forcing (invite has been accepted)

 

There's some other stuff about showing a 5-card heart suit directly over 1N-2 and further definition on some follow-up sequences.

 

My observation would be that this approach has some nice properties for invitational hands. For example it lets you out in two of a suit as often as possible on a declined invitation. However, even playing a very weak notrump range (this is designed for 9-12 apparently) I think the minimum GF hands are probably more important than the invitational hands. There isn't a clear way for responder to show game forcing 4441 patterns (for example) or to show all game-forcing two-suiters. You also have the main disadvantage of transfers (you have to bid 2 with a signoff rather than just bidding your suit, which reduces pressure on opponents) without the advantages (creates a lot more sequences for you).

hi awm thanks for the precis i know the outline is very scrappy an i had trouble with the original post not really interested in "selling" this structure though

just posted it because i was working out the new forum posts you have the basic gist of it though

a couple of things weak d hands go through 2c an either pass 2d weak or rebid 2nt over 2 M or 3d/ pas over 2nt - 3d

not sure with regard to marginal invitational hands strucure is almost always superior to simple transfers and alows you to show both gf minor hands

very well c>dand d>c at a low level which are often problem hands for most systems

gf 5-5 or 6-5 hands can go through 2nt and rebiding 3nt an up to show the specific hand types

 

the 4441 structure i am still tossing about a bit but there are many opperyunities to show specific 4441 structures

 

 

general min + bal hand try would normally be

 

1nt 2c

2d 2s

2nt ( denies 4s)

or (3c shows 4s) then 3h is bal with 4h jumps to 3nt sighn off when major suit situation resolved

 

 

 

 

not sure about what you said about be able to bid a direct 2h with a weak hand but interested in any structure that could cope well with it

Gladiatorish, has merit.

 

Problem hands with standard methods include responder's unbalanced invite with a 5cM.

We sometimes end up transferring then 2NT, passed out for -50 when RHO meanly leads our singleton.
