IMO _X = 10, _P = 9, 2N = 5

It depends on how aggressive your pre-balancing agreements are.

Did anyone ever read "to bid or not to bid", this is a clear "pre-balance" situation. Don't just let them play in 2♥'s. :)

 

Whatever 2NT bid means (and no, it should not be natural), I am bidding 3♣. I play good/bad 2NT here, for what it is worth.

I'd certainly double if I passed as dealer, this is a close call. State of the match and level of opponents might change my decision. With unknowns I'd double.

 

2NT is scrambling for me.

I used to play 2N in the following situations as Scrambling

 

1M - p - 2M - X

p - 2N

 

1M - X - 2M - 2N

 

But i was convinced by a player I respect to play the second one as good/bad.

I'd definitely double here, 2NT asking for my better minor.

As we are short in H we need to be the hand to act. Partners need to appreciate the need to widen lebensohl agreements from the first passed hand to handle this hand type, which is not so uncommon.Perhaps a 9-12 for a constructive response. I li8ke to use lebensohl when ever your side has a chance to reach game and see no valued reason not to have it on in this position.

Don't see the point in playing this as scrambling, as you can pass or make a responsive double with hands that might want to scramble.

 

As for the OP, I might pass or double (definitely double at pairs) and 2NT is scrambling.
