Phil
Range Stayman is useful over a balancing 1N to 1M. In short: 2♣ is Stayman; 2x in response shows an 11-14 "standard" NT balance. 2N in response says, I have a max (15-16) and 3♣ asks again. I assume this applies to balancing NT overcalls too. Bill
dake50
2x: does this 5-suit with a maxpass help you see 3NT? Other game?Range ask makes some sense, but I assume partner is looking at his top/mid/low range hand. Do I need to tell him what to do? What exploring is needed? Partner did not double, after all!Do we systemically need many "I don't trust your bid, partner?"
