tmcg
It seems that players are getting ruder in Individual tournaments. I always figure that you'll get some good players and some dolts -- I don't see Bob Hamman signing on to these things -- and that you roll with the results, good or bad. But more and more a slipped trick, or a perceived slip even if it wasn't, gets a rebuke from "partner." And that's even when we score positive IMPs! I make mistakes, as do most of the people I play with, but is it necessary to get so irritated by imperfect bridge? If so, please go hire a pro and let the rest of us have fun. Or just be quiet. It's not that hard to do. Tom McGuire

mgoetze
Matchpointed IMPs. Scores are compared against the field and converted to IMPs. How many IMPs do I get for a 75% result?
barmar
I entered an ACBL indy for the first time in a long time, and one of my partners was extremely lucky to get me instead of the usual rude players. With a 1=4=4=4 16 count, the auction started P-(P)-1♦-(1♠)-2♦, then he sacrificed in 5♦ when the opponents bid 4♠. "Sacrifice" isn't quite the right word, it was more like suicide, when we went for 1100 when they don't actually make game. I felt like screaming, as I was having an 80% game up to that board. But I kept totally silent.
