Barometer scoring

What exactly is barometer scoring? How does it compare to swiss? Can you apply either of them to individual tournaments?

 

And does 'survivor' work for individual movements? The option does not look grayed out when creating tournaments.

Survivor does not work for Indys.

Barometer does work for Indys.

 

 

When the 'barometer' option is selected, players receive their scores at the end of each round ( approximately, in the case of unclocked events). The movement is not affected; pairs go up or down or whatever, as usual.

 

Swiss uses barometer. Additionally, at the end of each round, best scores are lined up facing each other at the 1st table in the section, worst at the last table in the section.
