babalu1997
it was the last board, matchpoints, but not that it would have mattered the score was not well, because of a bidding misunderstanding and a costly defensive error the hand did not have many "points", but it had 5 quick tricks and one of those where the books say is good either for offense or defense partner is on the conservative side, so, i bid 4 spades. [hv=pc=n&s=sqt98ht82dkt92ck9&w=s7432hj965d8753c7&n=sak65hakq3d6cjt86&e=sjh74daqj4caq5432&d=w&v=n&b=12&a=p1cp1sp4s5cppdppp]399|300[/hv] we made 1 spade, 2 hearts, one diamond, four clubs as we dinked declarer. down 6, 1400 the five level sir, belongs to the opponent

W Kovacs
That looks like the bidding from a pick-up partner a few days ago. If he had 12+ hcp, he felt it a moral obligation to compete to the 4 level, no matter how many times I passed. I had never seen so many penalty doubles coming my way.
