If 4NT on 3♦ would have been quantitative, North gets 100%.

 

If not, the blame is split in the same fractions that NS are responsible for this.

I think that 4NT should be quantitative, but I think that at the table we would be both unsure if it is RKC or Quantitative.

North should bid a quantitative 4NT over 3D. If however you were unsure whether 4NT was quantitative or RKC then I think North should bid either bid 3NT or 4D depending on your style of opening at 1st NV. On 2nd thoughts I think North should just set diamonds with 4D because there are lots of minimum hands which make slam decent with a few chances. Say Kx xx KQxxxx Kxx and that requires diamonds 3-2 and the DA not with the 2H bidder, or maybe Kxx x AKxxxx Jxx and it also requires diamonds 3-2 with possible simple/double squeeze available. These were just minimum hands - with some average ones say Kxx x AQ10xxx Kxx or KQx xx AK10xxx Jx then they start to become even better slams. Seems like I'm talking myself into just bidding keycard!

He really wasn't expecting a 3NT call by partner, since it should show the ♥K.

Then what the heck was that weak 2H overcall with NOT one of the top 4 honors -- "an overcall on the smell of an oily rag ".

Even if partner's Diam aren't solid, hopefully they are headed by the AK10.... or AQ10 etc... and hopefully you can pick up the suit.

Very unlucky 6♦ goes down but I doubt West is preempting on 10-6th either. 6N is money, and North gets all the blame for 3N.

% 100 North. Add a ♦J or a 7th ♦ to south, i would bid 3 NT from south over dbl.

North didn't have ♠J (I know she did only have 18 pts). That will probably change your view completely.
