Aberlour10
russia and qatar hahahaah these people are insane Russia is OK, I think they will build 13 new stadiums without big problems, but Qatar? These FIFA-Mandarins acting not only corruptly but indeed insane. The temp in June = 40 C! What kind of football will be played in these conditions? They dont care because these guys will sit and watch it in lounges with best air conditions.
Gerben42
40°C is just the AVERAGE maximum temperature. It will be up to 50°C I guess. It's completely ridiculous! What is this country going to do with 12 giant stadiums anyway? They will be spending billions on stadiums no one needs while many live in poverty. And the FIFA supports this. It's an outrage, really. Russia is silly too. I can live with losing to England or Spain (okay maybe not again lol) but Russia means they were just lured by the $$$ which is despicable. Who needs the FIFA anyway?
gwnn
they're apparently trying to provide 27 Centigrade (a little too warm if you ask me anyway) in all stadiums, and guarantee zero carbon emissions. also they want to disassemble them and sell them cheaply (or donate?) into developing countries. still sounds like sci fi to me :)
gwnn
Also, I just looked at Australia's promotion clip, it's incredibly bad. Qatar's had a naivity about it but it attempted to show how much people really want to have the world cup, which is true enough. Obama was funny in the US clip, he avoided "soccer" and tried to say only "the game" and "the event".
