kayin801
X, if not now, when? If partner bids 5♣, then I'd probably pull to 5♦.

dake50
Partner free bids 1S and I'm fitting S:AK and single in opponents' hearts. I sure want to tell partner offense, so 4S.

jschafer
If you double partner's hand was: ♠QJT9xx♥Qx♦Q♣Txxx4♥ was cold, with 11 tricks available in ♠s, is anyone pulling the double?
Siegmund
What is 1D (1H) 2S in your system? With at least two of my frequent partners, the posted hand for responder is not a 1S bid. If partner had a void in hearts or something he might pull, but again, not with anything like the posted hand.
nige1
IMO...Were the outcome of judgement decisions less chancy, then Bridge would be a more boring game.If you defeat all the contracts that you double, then you're not doubling nearly enough. gnasher
If you double partner's hand was:I would play the double as takeout. Opposite a takeout double it's probably never right to pass with six spades. If you play the double as strong balanced, it's unwise to do it on a 2173 shape, even when all the honours are in the short suits.
