Bid em

In 2/1:

1 - 2 [Natural/Clubs or Balanced (2+), GF]

2 - 4 [More Natural Bidding/Clubs are Trump, demands Cuebids etc]

4 - 4N [Denying Control/RKC]

5 - 6 [2 Without Q/Let's play here]

or perhaps if using Minorwood, 4 as RKC immediately. Another option is bidding only 3 then 4.

In a Relay Precision-type system:

1 - 2 [Natural, Limited/Artificial GF Relay]

2 - 3 [4+/Relay Break - Sets as trump, demands cuebids]

3 - 4 [Cuebid/RKC]

4NT - 6 [2 Without Q/Let's play here]

If you play 2/1 I think it is a serious error if you do not set AKQJ98x as trumps with the South's hand. The auction would then proceed as 1S-2C-2D-4C in which cues and keycard responses are exchanged. South's hand has too much slam potential written over it so I would never want to cater to playing in 3NT. Give partner AKxxxx and out and 5C makes a very good contract and that's not a 1S opening.

- sry got the dealer wrong.

Lets see, how far I come

1C - 1S

2NT (1) - 3D (2)

3H (3) - 3S (4)

4C (5) - 4H (6)

4NT (7) - 5H (7)

6C

(1) either inv. strength without 3spades or game forcing strength

(2) Relais, accepting the game try

(3) Values, denies 3 spades

(4) good suit / waiting

(5) lack of alternativ, sets trumps

(6) cue, showes a top honor, denies a top honor in diamond

(7) RKCB, 2KC

Will need to check this seq. with p, we dot very deeply discuss

the follow ups after 3D, did not matter, seldom comes up.

With kind regards

Marlowe

Reversing the dealer on this hand is not very much different for me from the original.

1C = 15+ nat/balanced; or 18+ any

...1H = 4+ spades, unbalanced

1S = relay, usually 18+

...2C = 4+ diamonds, at least 5-4 in reds

2D = relay

...2S = 5+ spades, 5+ diamonds

2N = relay

...3D = 5=2=5=1

3H = relay

...4H = extras, 5 controls

4S = relay

...5C = spade control, no diamond control

6C
