OleBerg
In a stroke of mild insanity, you have agreed to play this system with a complete nutcase. (pass) - Pass1 - (pass) - 1♦2(pass) - Pass3 - (1NT) - X??? 1 = 0-8 or 16+, any distribution.2 = 9-15, no 5-card major, no one-suited minor.3 = your possible replies to 1♦ were: 1♥ = Strong relay.1♠/2♣/2♦ = The weak hand but constructive.1NT = The weak hand but constructive, with hearts.2♥+ = Strong hand, preferring natural bidding. Yes, partner has been self-medicating again, but nonetheless you have to try and assign some kind of meaning to his bid. What does the double show, and why? luke warm
13-15, 4432 shape... i'd expect p (who has the 0-8 hand) to sign off in longest suit
helene_t
2♣ and 2♦ would show a 5-card suit with four cards in a higher ranking suit, so double could contain three-suited hands. Maybe you would also like it to show 5♦4♣ but i think it would be unplayable to allow for both.
dake50
Why did you not "strong relay" then pass to scramble? How much could a passed hand "strong relay" be? Why would a system not allow passed hand tactical "strong relay"?
OleBerg
Why did you not "strong relay" then pass to scramble? How much could a passed hand "strong relay" be? Why would a system not allow passed hand tactical "strong relay"? I am not sure i understand yoyr questions, but: 1♥ would have shown 16+ Bluffs or creativeness is allowed. pooltuna
DSIP I have a near max?
Hanoi5
I'd take it as a maximum hand (13-15) with balanced shape that thinks 1NT might be going down IF partner holds some 7-8 HCP's. If partner holds less than that s/he should take it out to his/her best suit, probably diamonds.
MickyB
Both minors.
mfa1010
Ole forgot to say that both minors (54+) are not possible for 1♦ (unless it is a 5440 type). I had this problem at the table sitting opposite Ole, and unfortunately I wasn't able to solve the puzzle. ;)
