mohitz
[hv=pc=n&n=sakt2hdakq432cq63]133|100[/hv] IMPs, vulnerable against not (pass) - 1♦ - (pass) - 1NT(2♥) - ? Standard setting, not much agreements, X here would be penalty. If you bid 2♠, does that establish forcing pass at any level?
mtvesuvius
2♠ seems fairly wtp here. I think it should set up a forcing pass, but as mikeh said in another thread, we're not going to plan our actions as if the auction will come back to us on the 5 level. Fluffy
Not GF yet, so no forcing pass IMO. 2♠ is certainly WTP if double is penalty, if double was take out I'd like it because finding ♣AK is very easy when you set clubs as trumps. dake50
Which of 2S, Dbl, 3H gets partner to 'see' 5+Clubs to AK is slammy? He passed over 1M to bid 1NT, very likely he has 5+Clubs. I want to encourage clubs or D-xxx + CA.
mikeh
2♠ seems clear for now....it is a one round force, shows 9 of our cards and, assuming double of 2♥ is takeout (as I think is clear), hints at 10 of them (with 4=1=5=3 and these values we would probably prefer double). This doesn't, for me, establish any forcing pass since we could play 3♦ here (I think lebensohl/ingberman should still be on...2N by him as a puppet to 3♣, often prepatory to a signoff). Since our force is only to 3♦, a raise by LHO to 3♥ extinguishes the force. Unfortunately, I suspect LHO is going to be bidding some number of hearts.....so I can envisage trouble ahead....if I'm lucky, it'll only be 3♥, and maybe partner can show values over that...if not, I have my double card ready.
