barmar
Am I the only one who doesn't understand the context of the question?
xtimmiex
I think he is just asking why the GIB button is gone. You used to be able to use it when kibitzing a hand being played, or to evaluate a hand that you have already played, but recently, it has poofed. ;\ Since it seems like you aren't missing the button, it may only be missing for people that use the web based version of BBO like myself. barmar
I'm kibbitzing the JEC team game with the web version right now, and I see the GIB button.
fred
I am not sure of the specific details, but whether or not you see the GIB button in the web-client is a function of your BB$ spending patterns. If you spend $1 BBO every once in a while then the GIB button will become enabled for you. The reason for the current policy is that (unfortunately) there are real costs associated with making access to GIB's double dummy solver free for all web-client users. If and when we find a way to largely eliminate these costs, I suspect we will reconsider our policies in this area. xtimmiex
Thank you for clearing this up, Fred. I wasn't aware of that policy, and as of late I have cut done on spending BB$, so I will have to start spending again soon. :)
