Tournament rules

Recommended Posts

It may be there but that I just can't find it. In which case increasing the visibility of the function may be something worthy of improvement. Unless of course it is just me being idiotic.

But when a tournament host has gone to the trouble of posting detailed tournament rules, I have difficulty finding them when in the web client. I can find them in the Windows client. The closest that I can come up with (in the web client) is the tournament description, which sometimes contains an abridged summary of the tournament rules. Sometimes the summary tournament discription contains a reference to an external web page containing detailed tournament rules, but they are not clickable hyperlinks.

And whether in Windows or web client, the tourney description and/or tourney rules seem to be unavailable to players in the tourney after it has started, and I think that they should both be accessible at all times at least until the conclusion of the tourney.

Was there any reply to this? If a director (thinks he) has posted rules, it would be nice for players to be able to read them.

Players who use the web version cant read those rules if the director posted them as a .lin file on the Window version. I think the TDs can update their club's website and provide a link to the Rules if they expect all participants to obey them. Another thing that they currently do is quickly list rules on tourney chat, at the beginning of the tourney.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Maybe I'm just anal, but I like to know the rules of a tournament before I register, not after it starts. Not everyone who runs a tournament has a website. It seems to me that tournament directors "quickly list rules on tourney chat, at the beginning of the tourney" in an attempt to compensate for a software deficiency, so this should be considered a making-the-best-of-it work-around but not a solution.
