gwnn
double and double. we have a huge hand. I don't like 5♦ now because we can go down a lot. Obviously bad will be if partner pulls to 4♠ on a 4 card suit but I think that's rare. if he has 0 points and balanced or semi-balanced with 4 spades, he should pass. mtvesuvius
Agree with X before, I'll bid 5D now... True we can go down a lot, but being NV, I would imagine LHO might mess around with a 4♦ bid on their way to saving in 4H. Although X is "securing" a positive score, I am greedy :)
Free
Partner had the following:[hv=pc=n&s=s752ht643dqj76c84]133|100[/hv] I (North) doubled twice, and partner passed 4♥. All reasonable actions in our opinion. Can we find the slam somehow, without resulting? ;)
hotShot
What is 4♥ over opps 3♥ in your system?
Free
What is 4♥ over opps 3♥ in your system? Not really discussed, but I'd assume some good 5♠-5m hand.

Obviously bad will be if partner pulls to 4♠ on a 4 card suit but I think that's rare. if he has 0 points and balanced or semi-balanced with 4 spades, he should pass.I don't see how we can go down a lot in 5♦.In a worst case scenario we could lose 2♠, a ♣ and 2-3 trumps, but .....We know that RHO has 4+♥ and partner has 4-♥. Partner is likely to have only 5-6 cards in the black suits, so there is a good chance we won't lose 3 cards in the black suits, holding 4 top-tricks in the black suits. Since LHO has shown a void in ♦ partner and RHO share 7 ♦ cards. We have a ♦ fit. If we can finesse, the missing ♦ honors are onside. If partner has 4♦ we won't lose more than a ♦ trick, if he has only 3 his share of the missing QJT8xxx will also limit the number of ♦ loser to 0 to 2. Distribution has to be very bad for us to be more than 1 down.
gwnn
I was trying to say that a lot of the time we will go down in 5♦, not that we will go down several tricks. Sloppy English by me.
