straube
Applying what I've learned from the 2C discussion (mostly that 2M needs to be forcing).... Our 2D is 10-15, 6+ diamonds, no 4-cd major although up to 4C permitted. 2H-GF relay.....2S-4 clubs.....2N-balanced (probably 10-13 else 1N opening).....3C-higher.....etc 2S-a GI ask 2N-forcing, spades 3C-forcing, hearts 3D-weak 3M-FSJ I'm thinking that we have less room over 3C (hearts) than over 2N (spades) so the 3C bid needs to be more precise in what it shows. I'm thinking that it should be 12+ in pts whereas the 2N could be 9+ (with tolerance). Then the 2S bid has to handle hands with 5 hearts and 9-11 with diamond tolerance. 2D-2S.....2N-weak..........P-12-13 misfitting..........3C-5 hearts, 9-11, diamond fit?..........3D-nf.....3C-medium, 3 hearts?.....3D-medium, not 3 hearts?.....3H-maximum, 3 hearts? Or should we devote space to finding club fits?
dake50
Your most common goal is 3NT. Play 2M as stop: is this the suit you fear, partner? Or can you support this M?Try hard for the 3NT on running minor.

keylime
2M with us is NF (our 2♦ can be on 5-4 with clubs). 2NT is forcing inquiry.

What are the requirements for 2M response and for pass? What are the continuations after 2D-2N?And what are 3L responses?
