I was stalking a friend of mine on BBO myhands and I saw this hand:

A

KQJxx

KQx

xxxx

his RHO opened 3, he doubled (agree?), LHO bid 4 and CHO doubled also, RHO passed.

3-x-4-x

p-?

imps, nobody vuln.

I would have bid 4H. Generally I double with this shape, planning to bid 4H over 4m. However, this carries some risks (for example, partner jumping to 5m on a 5-card suit when 4H is better). Here the heart suit is good enough that I'd prefer to bid 4H immediately. I think we would have been better placed than we are now.

Does that mean I get to abstain for part 2 please?

Edit: I hope I am not the stalkee. Although... it would not have been the first time I disagreed with my own call.

pass

I think this is clear, which is not the same as saying that it is bound to work out well.

Partner had 4N available with a purely offensive hand and I am missing a lot of Aces, not to mention my club losers.

That's not to say that he can't have enough to cover me, but he'd be (at least) at top of range to hold 2 Aces and enough other stuff, either in hcp or in suit length, to make an 11 trick adventure a good proposition. I have found that playing partner for maximums when he bids under pressure is a losing proposition in the long run, even if it works on some hands.

Swishing it. Taking the "sure" profit (I hope). Pard could have done a lot of things, but double should be a "let's stop right here" bid.

Agree with the pass because we have a high card in the opponent's suit, disagree with the comment that partner's double was a "let's stop right here" bid.

IMO 5 = 10, _P = 9

Presumably, partner's double shows "cards". I concede that there is a strong case for passing (a trump trick, a shortage of aces, a flat hand, and the vulnerability)
