twcho
Top Seeds Zimmermann and Nickell have both cruised into the semifinal. The other two teams making up the other berths are Diamond and Wolfson. All the former 3 teams are well known to every zealous bridge fan. However, the team members of Wolfson are relatively unknown, perhaps except Rosenberg - Willenken. Can anybody give me any credentials for the other two pairs of this team?Ron Patchman - Eldad Ginossar and Jeff Wolfson - Larry N. MFA
Pachtman-Ginossar is a very strong, young Israelian pair. They have played on their national team for years and they won the 2007 European open team championships with Bessis-Bessis. Did you see Nickell's comeback against the Martens team by the way? Down 40 imps with 8(!) boards to go, they won the last ones 47-0. Incredible. The Poland/Chech team missed three normal/good games at the end and got too high on a fourth one to get cracked -300. How do they perform this kind of voodoo? lol B)

spotlight7
Hi: I had to check the middle initial. Larry N. Cohen won the Blue Ribbon pairs 81, 83, 88 and 95. He also wrote a couple of books on the LAW. Regards, Robert
JanM
Wolfson, with Neil Silverman, Martel-Stansby, Rosenberg-Zia won the bronze medal in the Bermuda Bowl in 2000 (losing to Nickell in the semi-finals). Larry Cohen coached Wolfson-Silverman for that event. Wolfson then gave up bridge to spend more time with his family the last 10 years. His youngest is now in college <_<, so I think we'll be seeing more of him from now on. He's a delightful person as well as an expert bridge player.
