georgi
Would it be reasonable if there are 80,100+ tables, and just 1 table with one missing player ( supposedly no subs in the list ) all to remain frozen waiting for the one person ? Basically the TD should pay attention to the missing players. If he has difficulties in finding, may lift some/all of the restrictions if there are any.If TD is playing he could be obstructed additionally in taking care of his tournament if no helping coTDs ( not playing). Presuming that player is about to return ( temporary powercut, unexpected PC restart) TD may decides to wait a bit before to sub it. And if that's sectioned tournament, holding all sections due the clock may cause more TD explanations on calls what's going on.
pirate22
agree with your input---when i challenged the TD after the event had finnished.his Comment was-------"Thats BBO's problem" {my boards were nos 11/12} After the awards came up-I waited a further 20 minuites for the tourney to finnish, and kibbing other players, playing their 10/11/12 board's P.S dissconnects-power cuts etc etc we all waited for 6/7 minuites...some power cut. TimG
SURELY WHAT IS NEEDED THE CLOCK SHLD BE STOPPED IF NO SUBS AVAILABLE. I don't think the game should be held up when there is no sub. It sounds to me like you were playing some sort of Swiss movement where subsequent rounds started when players were available so that everyone doesn't have to be playing the same round simultaneously. If I was your opponent for the final round, we were ahead of pace, you had no partner, and there was no sub available, I would not want to wait beyond the normal time for a round (certainly not the 20 minutes you waited for the tournament to end) to find you a sub. georgi
If the tournament is being Unclocked and sectioned, it causes players in the particular section randomly cycle inside and making new tables passing the slower pending ones.So that will make you watch some tables playing last, prelast, etc. board you have already played out. If you fancy fast and tidy tempo Clocked will ensure you all tables go up in expected time. But if you pay attention for having good scores and not losing a game for slow opponent/partner, then Unclocked may give you some extra time to can TD find a sub. Clocked , Swiss and Survivors are clocked types. Unclocked are only those explicitly marked as it.
A2003
Add a feature to allow GIB to be a substitute when no substitute is available after some time.Or Rent GIB for one board for $0.05. This feature will allow to finish the boards.whoever is renting this amount will be deducted as an alternate.
