It also saves us from the Hog's opinion, worth a couple of additional trees of frustration.

have you considered a simple compression algorithm? for example if we note KQ as M, the hand in cause become - Q MT5 M2. very usefull i think.

No. I made up the notation because the "x" on my keyboard didn't work. It's working now so I don't need it anymore.

Just think - we could have avoided all this simply by clubbing together to buy him a new keyboard.

as you live closest to him why don't you chunnel one over to him and try not to break it when you hit him on the head with it :)

I don't like this notation at all because it overlaps with showing your exact cards.

Depends if you can assume that you have 13 cards. If you can, it is unambiguous that

AKQJ

AKQJ

AKQJ

2

is normal notation, while

AKQJ

AKQJ

AKQ

2

is hanp notation.

Though this might sound silly, it's counterintuitive to me (to the point of being ridiculous) to have to count the cards in an example hand to realize what notation is being used. Like having to read an entire sentence before you know what language you just read.

Also sometimes you just want to give an example of one suit, not an entire hand.
