rogerclee
In these situations we should hope diamonds aren't running (else our chances to beat this are bad), so main goal is to kill dummy's potential side entry with a secondary goal of trying not to give up tricks. A heart lead accomplishes neither of these goals and is basically just trying to set up tricks, which I think is not our best way to beat this. The club ace is the best way to try to kill dummy's entry (we can continue or switch after looking), but is also the most likely to blow a trick. The spade looks safer but I think needs way too much. Overall even though it looks really weird and I don't expect a lot of support (maybe because it doesn't deserve any) I like the club ace lead. wank
i think the club ace is clear. you can score 2 ways. we can be running the suit or we can knock off dummy's entry if the diamonds aren't running, though i do expect the diamonds to be pretty good for them. bucky
I disagree that Roger doesn't deserve any support, since I agree with the ♣A lead.

P_Marlowe
Hearts, ... we will be doing fine, if we find p with the jack of hearts. He wont have a lot, but he can hold this. Everything else is too speculative. With kind regardsMarlowe
gszeszycki
heart K there is no guarantee that dia is the opps running suit it could easily be clubs and a club lead might be giving up the ship. A heart lead holds the most promise but a low heart might sadly lose a trick to stiff J or T in dummy. The heart K will at least smother any single honor in dummy (much more likely there than in p hand) andallow us to contine with a small heart (assuming we hold the trick and it still seems like a good idea) with little or no loss in tempo. It is indeed possible to constructa small number of cases where leading the K can limit our heart winners but they are far fewer than the number of cases opps can score 5c 2h and 2d after a low heart lead. rbouskila
Would lead a heart, but would lead fifth rather than fourth, since I don't really expect it to matter for partner, and might cause declarer to play his ace on the wrong trick.
