Gerben42 Posted October 4, 2010 Report Share Posted October 4, 2010 Partner doubles and you have a singleton ♠. This can mean one of two things: 1. Partner is very strong (18+) or2. Opponents have a 10-card fit Even with #1, partner will stretch to not Dbl with a singleton ♥. So I think a direct 4♥ is a good bid, although I can understand 3♥. Partner's second dbl confirms it was #1, which means I should probably pass unless I have a really weird hand. I always ask myself here: If partner had 4 Aces, would he want me to pass? Here, the answer is yes (both 5♥ and 4♠ will likely fail opposite 4 Aces). With 1714 or so the answer is no so I should bid. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
