As usual, the answer to the problem can be found by thinking: What's going on?

 

For one thing, partner has a singleton , and LHO has 5 of them behind you. Furthermore, how are the HCP divided. I have 10, LHO perhaps 12, RHO 6 and partner the remaining 12. So far a pretty clear picture!

 

We are about 22-18 ahead in HCP but KJ are absolutely useless for offense. I would bid 3, not because I think it will be cold but LHO will be on lead and cannot lead a . 2 is a likely make. Even 1 down will be -100 vs -110 and since it is "our hand" we are unlikely to be doubled.

 

But I admit it is a close decision and could well result in the kiss of death (-200). I just feel that waiting for -110 isn't a good strategy. Maybe they bid 3 and go down.
