Phil
All MPs, very weak field. 1. All red. T98x x KTx QJT98. 1♥ - (dbl) - rdbl - (pass)1♠ - (2♣) - ? (your rdbl shows spades, pard's 1♠ shows exactly 3). 2. ♠xxx ♥ K97xx ♦ Axx ♣Kx pass - (1♣) - 1♥ - (2♦);pass - (2N) - pass - (3N);AP Your lead? thanks
aguahombre
On the first one, I lead the top of the sequence in trumps :( .
whereagles
1. pass seems trivial 2. heart
mikegill
1) I would double and lead the cQ. I don't think they're likely to be able to run anywhere else. 2) I would lead a heart. This is almost certainly what everyone else in the field is leading so I'll try to outdefend them later in the hand.
jdonn
1. Since double shows a balanced 10 count, and I don't have one, I pass!2. A heart I guess although I don't feel good about any lead. Spade is possible.
hanp
1) I would double and lead the cQ. I don't think they're likely to be able to run anywhere else. I'd say partner is very likely to run somewhere!!
Phil
1 - Yes I passed. Double ain't penalty in my world, but I'm curious how many would grab the bait. Too bad pard didn't reopen with one - he held KJ AJxxxx QJxx x (don't ask me why he bid 1♠). 2. W00t I tabled the spade and struck gold. I don't think its clear at MPs, but I think it should be considered.
mikegill
Double clearly shows balanced 10 when it goes 1♥ X 1s 2c p p X or something of the like. I thought this should be treated differently, but I'm certainly willing to believe that's crazy. Is a balanced 10 that can't make a penalty double a lot more likely than a hand like this in this auction? Obviously I would pass if I thought partner would take it as balanced values not penalty. aguahombre
Being content that your decision to use redouble as part of the xfer scheme over 1H (X) is the only way you could have defended 2C, doubled or not, on this one.
