Hanoi5
X6♣A club. Painfully. Scratch that, a diamond, why do I need 5...
rogerclee
1) Double 2) Assuming 4N was hearts + clubs I'm going to bid 6C. If partner has the HA this might make. If partner doesn't then we will have a hard time cashing our slow heart trick anyway since our hands are going to be severed. It's going to be a pretty epic fail if partner has the HA and 2 spades, but I'm prepared to take that risk. 3) First of all I think the redouble is bad, we only have 4 spades and nowhere else to run, so I would just take my medicine. It seems to have worked out well though, I guess you knew your customers. Anyway this is a weird hand. It seems like declarer is 4342 though so I would go with the natural play of pitching a diamond. Phil
On the 3rd if you ditch a low diamond, declarer wins the K and plays a heart towards hid hand, partner playing the Q and she wins her KIng, and exits the ♥T. Two more pitches please (sorry if this is obvious).
Hanoi5
Clubs, now. Oooops. Diamonds, even if declarer is missing an honor (singleton in partner's hand) he can only arrive at 8 tricks. So partner holding the ♣J is our only hope. Gotta think these through a little more. Echognome
I'll go with more diamonds. Partner did play the ♥Q (while presumably holding the J) to help us out. If declarer has ♣Ax and partner ♣Jx, I need to hold onto all of my clubs.
Phil
1. I posted this because I was curious if anyone played 4♦ as ♦ + a M. What else can it be? Partner bid 3♣ with this (?!). I held 224(♣QJxxx - double is juicy since RHO has only 5 clubs. 2. Pard bid 6♣ wd. I held void KJTxxx xxxx Jxx and played it x'd. Teammates played 6♠ - and were allowed to make it on a misdefense. 3. I agree the diamond pitch seems pretty easy. And the 2nd diamond pitch is really easy after the ♥Q. The hand was something like: [hv=d=w&n=sqjxxhdt8xxxct9xx&w=sa8xxhkt9xdjxxcax&e=sxxhaxxdk9xckq8xx&s=sktxhqjxxxxdaqcjx]399|300|[/hv].
P_Marlowe
Hi, #1 X, if you play 3C as spades + ?, than this is certainly better, but I guess, this would show the majors#2 X#3 I guess, a diamond. With kind regardsMarlowe PS: We play 4D as diamonds and a major.
