Tomi2
found that article linked in facebook, continuation of the "who will play in what team" discussions: http://neapolitanclub.altervista.org/eng/l...-interview.html Now it seems there are 3 Teams in Italy-Lavazza with Duboin-Sementa and Bocchi Madala-Angelini with Nunes-Fantoni and "a Norwegian pair" (expect Helnes Helgemo)-Zaleski with Lauria-Versace always interesting to see how players and teams move and move and how the hard market creates a bad atmosphere amon the players... but anyway for the fans of Italian Championships a tourney with more top teams is much more fun.In Germany the Bamberg team splited for the open teams to avoid the Bamberg vs rest competiton, the championships became far more interesting imo... hanp
Enjoyed reading the last piece. Fantunes: They are selected instead of us because of politics. Lauria: What? We are just much better, that's all!
Gerben42
Much better seems to be a strange statement - I doubt anyone with a bit of realism can say they are much better than Fantoni - Nunes. The real thing is - there is no qualifying for 2011 Bowl in Italy!
esmerax
Helgemo, Helness and Brogeland in Angelini Team with Fantunes :) http://neapolitanclub.altervista.org/eng/h...elini-team.html
Hanoi5
Helgemo, Helness and Brogeland Weren't these guys banned from playing for their country last year? Which means they can represent Italy next year... Wouldn't that be a strange coincidence?

Brogeland is the only one which wasn't involved. Before you make public statements that might affect another player's reputation, you should make very sure that you have your facts right. You have now got it wrong twice. Neither Helness nor Brogeland was involved, and neither was disiplined by the Norwegian Bridge Federaton. I can't find the original disciplinary committee decision, but between them these two articles name all eight of the players involved: http://bridge.no/Organisasjon/Nyheter/NM-f...siplinaervedtak http://bridge.no/Organisasjon/Nyheter/Utme...er-Heimdalsaken

I did some trawling in RGB (which I can't be bothered to repeat to find the relevant posts in a huge thread), and it appears to be accepted fact that Helgemo/Helness had made themselves unavailable for the main event to play in Zimmerman's transnational team some while before the events that triggered this disciplinary.
