jillybean
(1x) 1N (2♣) ? If you usualy play systems on after 1N (2♣), do you play systems on here?
Phil
Yes. Pretend like the opening bid didn't take place and play what you normally would over 2♣. I hope it is "system on over a x, 2♣, and 3♣".
jillybean
Thanks Phil, we play systems on over X and 2♣ I need to talk about 3♣
peachy
I play Systems On, including Lebensohl. Dbl of 2C is Stayman. Dbl of RHO's other 2-level bis is whatever you have agreed Dbl to mean in your methods (penalty for many). For Lebensohl, any stopper promise/deny applies only to RHO's suit since 1NT overcall already promised the stopper in their opening suit (LHO's suit). kenrexford
Yes, unless 2♣ is Lair. Then, systems on as if RHO bid Landy.

I hope it is "system on over a x, 2♣, and 3♣". Phil, what is the advantage of playing systems on over 3♣ ?I see you can have the 1nt bidder playing the hands and could show slam interestafter 1N (3C) 3H (P) 3S etc but you can't ever play in 3♦. Is this not important?
bluecalm
People still play 2C as natural here ?Anyway to simplify things I think it's good to play system on.

Is this not important? There's an old post from Fred (really old!) that discusses this. Suffice it to say, playing 3♦ and 3♥ as transfers showing at least an invite works really well. As does a double which is essentially takeout, but functions as Stayman.

I wish one day I will form partnership with someone willing to play all those toys :P
