sakar
For human bridge players, some slack plays may occur when they are tired. :) However, I don't know why a GIB would take this stupid play. :P One can link this deal, please.http://tinyurl.com/25cs7n9 I open lead ♠5(trump) to defend 4♠.East win with ♠A, then ♣7 to North. (I think this is OK.) Now, North leads another trump, and East plays ♠8 !!!!!!!That's unbelievable! On the real table, only the players who are distracted could draw a wrong card. This fault made by a GIB is very ridiculous. On this hand, the 4♠ contract is declared by East for all tables.Only on my table the 4♠ is down 1.But I think this is very FUNNY. barmar
GIB works by simulating a bunch of hands. And when you play in the MBC, it has the settings set for fast play, so it runs smaller simulations. In your case, apparently none of the randomly generated hands had the ♠10 in South, so it didn't think its play mattered.
calm01
Barmar, Thanks for the helpful explanation. But not mattering in a simulation is not an excuse for sloppy play. Perhaps, the programming needs to be altered so that no-lose plays override not mattering in a simulation. In this way an entire class of poor plays would be eliminated. And players would not have to trouble you again with an entire class of poor GIB behaviours.
