pooltuna
Win the ace and run the ten of hearts. well so much for the easy part :P After the T♥ holds what do you do? :)
bluecalm
Win the ace and run the ten of hearts. Then read souls and decide between various lines. I don't see a point of making plan for whole hand now. A lot depends on situation in hearts, if T get covered (so we have one more entry to dummy and what their discards are). If T♥ wins I think finessing diamonds is good. If that wins too we can try to set strip squeeze against E or just set up clubs depending on their discards to our running hearts. Cascade
Win the ace and run the ten of hearts. You don't mind blocking the spades?
Phil
Win the ace and run the ten of hearts. well so much for the easy part :P After the T♥ holds what do you do? :P How about repeating the finesse? Later, we may have to choose between what we do first among unblocking the spade, and running the ♣Q, but I'll take the word of others since I don't have the patience to think about this right now. Finally, we may have to decide between playing for clubs 3-3 / squeeze or a diamond finesse for 12. Edited: (speaking for me) I don't mind blocking the spades, since they can't effectively attack my entries, and in practice they play a 2nd spade anyway. JLOGIC
If the heart finesse wins my plan is to hook the heart again. If it wasn't Qx I have entry problems now but I'm going to play the 9 of clubs from my hand and assume they won't cover with the jack. Maybe a very good player would find it, but I could easily have K98x or something and it's a silly play. If the C9 gets ducked on my left by the jack I'm fine in terms of entries. If it gets covered by the king I can just duck, so I'm not all that worried. And of course sometimes the heart finesse loses and I have the 9 of hearts as an entry. JLOGIC
And of course if they do actually cover the C9 with the jack we can just duck, LHO is the safe hand and we will make 5 even with split club honors. Leading the C9 is definitely better than leading the queen though since covering the 9 with the jack is a much harder play than covering the queen with the king. Blocking the spades seems like a non issue.
