JLOGIC
We got to 6D after (2H)-2N-(3H)-X-(p)-4D
Siegmund
I am surprised to see 6S being punished so severely in the scoring. 6D is only outscoring it when spades are 5-1 and the CK is onside, it looks like to me (and losing to it every time 6S makes = anytime spades break)... I would expect 6S to be scored ahead of 6D at MPs.
Fluffy
also when LHO has ♥A; 4 spades and ♣K
gnasher
We got to 6D after (2H)-2N-(3H)-X-(p)-4D Would 3♠ have been forcing? If so, it seems odd to double, which risks losing the 5-3 fit.
bluecalm
We got to 6D after (2H)-2N-(3H)-X-(p)-4D We bid: 2♥ - 2NT - 3♥ - 3♠pass - 3NT passes 2NT might be underbid (some of my friends think so).Why did you chose a double instead of 3♠ ? Ant590
I overbid (again), and cuebid 4♥ on the sequence (2♥) - dbl - (3♥) - 4♥ Partner made me pick a minor with 4NT then raised to 6.
jdonn
Shouldn't 6♠ clearly be ahead of 6♦? By comparison 6♦ wins any time spades are 5-1. 6♠ wins any time spades are 3-3 or 4-2 and the club is on. That seems a lot more likely to me. If almost everyone is in 4S, then 6D is definitely better than 6S. But still a 7 for 6S is really low. I would think it makes 75%+% of the time: they only bid to 3H on a 10-card fit, so a good spade break is even more likely than the 85% rpbridge.net calculates under the assumption of hearts being 6-4; and if they have a diamond ruff they still have to find it. jdonn
It's true 6♦ is better if people aren't in slam, but as next mentioned it's also true that 6♠ is worth more than a 7 in any case. I mean it's still better than 3NT as long as it makes more often than not which I'm very convinced it does.

Shouldn't partials be worth a little something if some slams are going down? <ducks>
