I think misio5 should have the freedom to set whatever price he feels he needs to charge. There is no need to "consider what this will do to the market". Trying to anticipate what others will charge and charging that amount affects the market prices, the way pricing whatever yourself worth does.

Why are we pressuring him to set what prices we think he should?

I agree 100% with the sentiments expressed in Rain's post.

The next version of BBO will contain some facilities that will

allow teachers and professional players to charge a fee for

various services. Bridge Base Inc. is not going to get involved

in establishing limits on what people can charge.

If a given teacher from a country where $1 is a reasonable

hourly wage is willing to teach on BBO for $1 per hour, that

may be bad for teachers from "rich" countries, but it is good

for consumers (ie our members).

The BB$ (micro-)economy will be a free market because:

1) We believe this is in the best interest of our members

2) We do not want to get involved in regulation in this area

3) If we do establish limits and specific teachers do not like

these limits, they can always go outside these limits and use

some method other than BB$ to receive payment from

their students. In other words, we have no way to enforce

pricing regulations and the very act of establishing them

will cost our company money.

ORLANDO-BASED BRIDGE PRO AVAILABLE FOR REGIONAL TOURNAMENTS THIS FALL. I don't have many bookings yet for regionals this fall. I am booked for the Nationals in Orlando. I have won over 400 master points so far this year, mostly with one client. I prefer to work on serious partnerships with talented students. Please contact Jeff Hand, 407-375-2053, hand_jeff@hotmail.com. Thank you.
