peachy
Auction is the following, in the Robot Race #1850, I think it was Board 10.I haven't found out a way to access the hands, the link in "My Hands" does not produce any data. GIB GIB GIB Me2H P P Dbl P 3D P 3H P 3S P 4S My partner-GIB's 3D was explained as : 4+ D 10-13,and his 3S was explained as: 4+D, 5+ S, 13+ . Turned out my partner-GIB had 4 spades, and if I remember correctly, 4 diamonds and maybe 8 HCP. My hand was strong enough to make it with 4-2-4-3 shape and about 19. Anyway, it appears something was not in sync. I have learned to expect that GIB bids suits up the line when responding to a takeout double and that takeout double followed by a new suit is not strength showing. Is this how it is supposed to be? arigreen
Here is the hand in question: http://tinyurl.com/2ffj4s7 I very much like GIB's bidding here. However, the explanation of 3♠ is incorrect. It should read "4+ D, 10-13 TP, values in spades" GIB does not always bid its longest suit when responding to a takeout double. Bbradley62
Are we sure these are the same hands? OP's auction shows the reopening double in balancing seat, and the posted link shows the takeout double in direct seat. OP says North has 4 spades, but he has only 3 in the link. OP says he has 19 opposite 8, but link shows 16 opposite 11. I don't understand why 3♦ shows 10+. If the auction goes (2♥)-Dbl-(P) to you, what are you supposed to do with:xx, xxx, KQxxx, xxx? barmar
You're supposed to bid 2NT Lebensohl, followed by 3♦.

Thanks for looking into it. I didn't quite remember the hand nor the auction, I was busy writing down the explanations while in dummy. Bbradley62
You're supposed to bid 2NT Lebensohl, followed by 3♦. Great. Hopefully that can be added to GIB's system notes.
barmar
You're right, it's not in the system notes. But if you hover over 2NT in the bidding box it shows it. GIB plays Leb when the opponents interfere over 1NT and when partner doubles over a weak 2, the usual situations where most advanced players use it.
