rv1
Why so long startup time counting users?
diana_eva
The "start-up time" is how long it takes for the software to load. It depends on your computer, your internet connection, how many people are online etc.
barmar
I believe the Windows client downloads the profiles of all logged in users when you login. This is what allows it to instantly display the profile of a user as soon as you mouse over them. When they designed this, they didn't plan for 10,000 users being logged in. They redesigned things when they created the Flash client, only downloading things when they're needed. This makes logins much faster, and also puts less load on the server. The Windows client is never going to be redesigned, so either put up with its shortcomings or switch to the web client.
