reset score?

there are many players concerned with score. when a new player sit at a table (main bridge club), it is polite to reset score. BUT i hate losing hands history (click 'movie' button and you'll see it's empty after a reset score). Is there any way to make this 'reset score' non-dependent on hands history/movie?

I do realize that may imply big changes in software, it just a thing to consider... Maybe attach score on player not on table, so each player can reset it's own score when he wish?

You can click on NetBridgeVu.exe (shortcut named "Bridge Base Online") and choose the button "Open Bridge Movie from your computer". From the popup window, you choose the folder bearing your login name and select the latest lin file which contain your most recent hand records.

thanks for info. it might work, but not exactly what i wanted (i want for example to review past hands when i'm playing at the table but i'm dummy).

You cannot review the hand until the hand has been played for 16 times by looking at the webpage. But you can open two BBO windows at the same time and you can look at your most recent bds.

It would be cool to see 2 scores, your personal running score as well as table score. Table score resettable by host, personal score's your own.

I like this idea. I find it a nuisance to have six separate files created for a six round (12 board) tournament. If I want to go back and review them (or convert them to text for e-mail discusssion, as I do) it would be easier to have them all in one file.

Tim, for tourneys there are 2 different types of files generated: first type is the same like generated at a table in the main bridge club, and contains all hands you have played at a table. The filename consists of the current date and a number. The second type is a file containing all hands of the tourney. The filename includes the word "tournament".

 

I usualy never look at the first type of files. The only disadvantage with it is that it is generated when the tourney ends, so you cannot use it when you are dummy. But instead, you can use the MOVIE window then to review the boards already played in the tourney.

 

I would suggest to avoid to create the first type of files during tourneys, thereby reducing the size of the hands directory. The filename of the second type should start with the date when it was played, this way making it easier to be found.

Thanks. I cleaned out my hands directory recently, but next time I play a tournament, I will look for the tournament record.
