luke warm
win in hand, lead ♣9 only trumping if covered, tossing heart otherwise... win trump return, trump heart, lead ♣10 throwing heart or trumping if covered... if it loses, win the return, draw trumps, run clubs, finesse a diamond (save a trump)... this seems to make 4 every time and 7 if ♣A, J and ♦K on your left, 6 if 2 of those on your left i think :)

paulhar
:) You have ten tricks - five spades, a heart, two diamonds, a club, and a club ruff. You have to promote them and untangle them. Win trick 1 in dummy and let the HK ride for a ruffing finesse, pitching a club. When it loses, take the next trump in hand and ruff a club. If trumps were 3-2, ruff a heart, lead the CK. If it loses to the ace on your right, and a club comes back, play the 9 to get 2C,1H,1D,1ruff,5trumps. Otherwise, finesse DQ to guarantee 10 tricks. If trumps are 4-1, I think you need the diamond finesse. Still ruff the heart, draw trump, taking 5 trumps, 1 ruff, 3d, 1h. If the HK gets covered WILL FINISH POST TOMORROW :lol:Edited: I lied, not finishing - due to lack of interest.
Flame
The lines presented here are ok, but i think they go down when the cards lay very bad for you, as they did to me.I think there might be an intresting and maybe better line. The lead of trump will seldom be from a singelton, if spades are 3-2 i will make it, so my problem is when the lead was from 4 card suit. How about taking the spade at my hand and finnesing diamond right away, if it loses, east will have no trump (or they break 3-2) if he continue heart, i can play low, and will have 2 high hearts in dummy. Not sure about it. Hands like this one are too complex for me.
luke warm
so you're basing your play on west leading a trump from 4, right? if that's the case, why is my lead of ♣9 wrong? east has no trump, so what does he return (assuming west doesn't cover, in which case i trump)? club? i play the K... a diamond is fine... heart? i toss a diamond (the Q, you never know).. say this loses to west's ace... now what? trump? probably another club (even if from ace) maybe it doesn't make, i'd need to see the hands, but it sure appears to... what line did you take?
