gwnn
AQxxxxAKQxxxx LHO starts the bidding at all vulnerable Teams. 1♦-2NT-3♠-x4♠-5♣-p-?
cherdanno
I would pass, 7-1 fits probably play better than 5-2 fits.
TylerE
6♦.

cherdanno
6♦. One of us is misreading the auction. In my auction, my partner showed lots of hearts and more clubs, and LHO showed a (probably unbalanced) 1♦ opening.
TylerE
Ugh, yea, I misread the opening as 1♠...., hrrm, yea, have to pass then I guess.
JLOGIC
Did I really double 3S? What is that? Why did LHO bid 4S over it lol, I woulda thought it was penalty...and looking at my hand it also seems like I meant it as penalty. Oops just read the thread title. I don't know what's going on but passing is really obvious.
jkdood
Assuming pard heard me double 3S, I would not only pass but expect to make it (or perhaps it's time for a new partner.) a 7-5 such as x Kxxxx void KQJTxxx seems the very least pard could have. Of course need both A of H and K of S onside to make. Wish I had bid 5C myself to get the spade lead AWAY from the K, as RHO must be on a yarborough! gwnn
move along, nothing to see yes, apparently only 25% of all people involved in this hand understood this as a penalty double partner had 6 hearts and 5 clubs, other table was 3NT=, we were 5♣-4. I don't remember but I think 5♥ was also going down, but maybe only 1. Not nice of me, perhaps, to post this hand, in fact I don't remember what my underlying reason was. aguahombre
I understand the double of 3S. It is a non-forcing bid in "U" vs "U". The double serves as a warning to partner who shouldn't be bidding again not to bid again, unless he has a split-range 2NT agreement and he had a hand too strong to overcall. Of course this would have required an opening Psyche. Title is appropriate --2NT bidder needs rehab.
