Can I go back and open 1? Having passed the first time, I don't really think you can expect to catch up. 2 is probably the least evil now.

Opening 1 is beyond LOL.

Agree with 2 though.

So many garbage points make game in hearts unlikely unless p has at least 4 of them so we start with a simple bid of

2d

making it easy for p to bid the necessary 2h/3h for us to bid game. At least by bidding 2d we (by overbidding a tad) show our power and bid our longest and strongest suit (usually not a bad thing).

Rubens Transfer Advances has advantages here:

( p ) - p - ( 1C ) - 1S

( p ) - 2C! = transfer to 2D

But Partner has options:

2D = simple accept and you can pass.

2H = the 4th suit, natural and extra values

( wouldn't this be sweet ! ).

2S = wants to play in spades and you can pass.

2NT = natural, extra values and usually 2 card support for your suit;

with your weak hand but a 6 card suit, you can repeat your suit ( 3D ) to play.

3C! = cuebid as a super-accept for Diam, good hand.

3D = preemptive jump.
