CSGibson
[hv=d=e&v=n&s=skjhkj87542d63ca9]133|100|Scoring: BAM(p)-1♥-(p)-2♠*,(2N)-?[/hv] You are playing board a match with competent flight C teammates against a seasoned pair. 2♠ is a fit jump, promising at least 9 cards between spades & hearts with concentrated values in those suits, and is either invitational or slammish, not just a minimum game force. 2N is obviously for the minors. What is your bidding plan (hidden follow-up)? Hidden: RHO jumps to 5 clubs over whatever continuation, and partner doubles, most likely showing the invitational hand rather than any specific defensive holding. Now? hrothgar
Looks like a great hand for a sting cue bid in Diamonds...
cherdanno
Given your two-way agreement I think you should agree a rebid by opener that says clearly "I will play game opposite the limit raise, but are slam suitable opposite slam interest". After agreeing such a bid, I will make that bid. Over 5♣X, I bid 5♥.
TimG
My first thought was 4♣, must accept the game try if that is what partner holds and shows which minor I control if he has a slam try. Over 5♣X, I'll bid 5♥.

gszeszycki
Dealer: East Vul: N/S Scoring: BAM ♠ KJ ♥ KJ87542 ♦ 63 ♣ A9 (p)-1♥-(p)-2♠*,(2N)-? Assuming your agreement further means an assured heart fit----I would bid 3C (which should show the ace) vs 4C which should be a splinter---(I would further use3N to show BOTH minor suit aces but thats me) in any case partner now has plenty of extra information if they wish to explore slam:)

I'm sure the jargon is getting you on this one. Maybe if he had called it a "Zia qbid" it would be obvious to you :)
CSGibson
If you bid 5 hearts over the opps eventual 5 clubs, it goes Pass-Pass and then RHO bids 6 clubs.
Pict
Opposite the OP I bid 3C* (cue opposite slam interest) and leave the other table to play its own Bridge.
dake50
Like hrothgar, except I like a BeeGees void-D splinter.
CSGibson
Turns out that you need to take the bid and get them to lead something other than diamonds to win the board (6 clubs is down 500, teammates are bringing back -650), partner having:[hv=s=saqxxxha9xxdxxcxx]133|100|[/hv] Richard and Dake's suggestions of diamond cues might work out - I know that after I cued clubs, LHO led the king of diamonds from Kxxx, suggesting that if I cued diamonds he might have led clubs. gnasher
If you're going to psyche, the best thing to do is to splinter. That's more effective than showing the ace, because when you have Ax it may still be right to lead the suit. Also, if you splinter partner is more likely to take control, and the auction will look more believable.
