Cascade
I think we need to know what 1♦ and 3♣ mean to answer this problem.
cloa513
3♣ could be weak or a mixed raise of diamonds (shows clubs and diamonds support 10-12 HCP) or even strong.
robertb
I'm the one diamond opener here? I ask because, although the question seems to clearly say that I am, I can't imagine bidding 4 spades, one of the options, on this hand. Also, of course, I suspect that one diamond wouldn't be the first choice of most players.
Hanoi5
Maybe it was: 1♦-3♣-X-Pa In which case the hand becomes a real problem. 3♠ or 3NT seem possibilities but Pass can also be right.

See description of 3♣: 3♣ could be weak or a mixed raise of diamonds (shows clubs and diamonds support 10-12 HCP) or even strong. It couldn't have this meaning in your auction. (although if it really means what he says, it's kinda silly, imo).

No, whoever described 3♣ (which is not a description of the bid but of some of the meanings you could attach to it) is not the same person/nick that did the topic. gwnn
When in doubt (about the actual auction and who your partner is and the vulnerability or your system), bid 3NT.
